Mika, telemark freeride

Mikaël, a child of the Southern Alps, born in Gap and raised in the Ubaye Valley, started skiing at the age of 4. He quickly moved on to club training and competitions until the age of 17, before embarking on a DE (Diplôme d'État) in alpine skiing.

A lover of all forms of snow sports, Mika tried his hand at snowboarding and surfing, but it was telemark skiing that really caught his attention. His introduction to the sport was a bit makeshift—with oversized leather boots, old bindings and freestyle skis—but it quickly became a passion.

Poles? Not for him. Mika discovered freeriding in telemark, and that's when things really took off. For four seasons, he competed in the Freeride World Qualifier in France and Europe. The results: two top 30 finishes in France, two top 200 finishes worldwide, and all that in the skier category! He also flew to the United States for the Freeheel Life Cup, where he finished in the top 10.

An unusual, committed career path, resolutely focused on the mountains and freedom.

Mika chose the L5S1 97 in 184 cm for freeriding, attracted by its strength and exceptional stability in big turns. For touring, he prefers his namesake ski, the ‘Mika’, and also takes the opportunity to test future L5S1 models designed for the discipline.
