A new telemark binding is here: The Alternative
In terms of functionality, TKS has based its design on the existing TTS model, namely a low-tech toe piece (developed here by Plum) and a shank and cartridge system for grip.
This allows for a very progressive flex, good torsional rigidity, and the option to remove the cartridges for the ascent, resulting in a super lightweight binding.
The innovation lies in the TKS AREA touring plate, which perfectly distributes forces and prevents ski pull-out or delamination. With the arrival of the new Scarpa TX boots, which are much stiffer in the "bottom" area, they place more stress on the ski, especially on lighter skis.
In short, this binding is aimed at those who want something very minimalist, who enjoy ski touring, and who want to achieve the flex of the 75mm standard.
